[isf-wifidog] Wifidog and Vmware

I've got the Auth Server and a seperate single Gateway server running in VMWare
in our core facility. I can't tell you how to configure VMWare specifically,
I'm the network engineer and not the VMWare administrator. However, all I did
was ask our VMWare administrator for a VM with 2 Virtual Network cards for the
Gateway server and had him place each Virtual NIC in to two different VLANs that
I created and defined on the switch port that attached to his VMWare Server..
Below is a little "graphic" that is similar to our configuration. This is a
simpler than our solution but would be the basic amount of VLAN configuration
needed so you can understand what I'm talking about :
Internet--------------Auth/Gateway-------------AP
^ ^
VLAN 100 VLAN 101
So your VMWare server will have to be able to handle both VLAN's being trunked
to it so that it. Then you place one Virtual NIC in to the VLAN with the AP and
the other in to the VLAN that carries your data to the internet. Once you have
that configured, you install WiFiDog as per the instructions on the website.
I'm not sure all versions of VMWare support VLAN capabilities in to the virtual
network that is created, so you'll have to look in to the documentation of your
specific version for that.
Good Luck!

I checked it and my config.php looks exactly the way you say. I tried
other countrycodes, but I get the same error. My guess is that the main
problem (the blank page) is not related to the language problem.

Hello,
I'm new here but I really need your help. I would like to know if anyone has
ever tried to install wifidog in a virtual machine using Vmware and if there is
a kind of how-to about this procedure.
Thanks in advance.

There is no difference between installing wifidog on a virtual machine
compared to physical hardware. Just follow the normal instructions for
the distribution. I run both the gateway and auth server on the same
machine in vmware.

Its quite possible its unrelated, but its also possible its spitting out
the errors before PHP can set a HTTP header causing it to only show a
blank page.
I'd rather chase that first, than radius yet.
I just remembered, I ran into this at a new site. A newer version of
PHP requires quotes; define('DEFAULT_LANG', 'en_US');
Next, what are the results of radtest from the wifidog server to the
radius server?
Thanks.
