I figured it all out after I posted - much left to figure out though. The documentation seems a bit sketchy. Maybe I will be expert by the time I have a working hotspot and could write some complete documentation. iptables are nightmare.<BR>

Dog_cookie should goto the tmp directory on the auth server (cat /tmp/dog_cookie.txt), if not you could check your permissions on the folder.<BR>

Installed WiFiDog. Trying to install WiFiDog Auth. I noticed the /tmp/.htaccess file but renaming it did not make the login dialogue go away.<BR>

Oh THAT /tmp/cookie.txt! Any chance or making it a little more apparent - 'specially given the tmp directory in WiFiDog's web root??! Some of us do not read PHP so well.<BR>
