<p>Yes, all clients would typically use DHCP.</p>

<p>(Otherwise you'll have to supply the information for the static IP, gateway and DNS too, which would be terribly inconvenient.)</p>

<p>DHCP is how virtually all ad-hoc networks like those where wifidog is used.</p>
<p><br></p>
<p>But yes, the user will have to configure their wireless client (PC) to use DHCP. As far as I know there's no way to "force" that except by the user setting it.</p>
<p><br></p>
<p>However, I'm not aware of any Windows based PC that doesn't configure the wireless card this way by default. Thus, if it isn't using DHCP, the user must have changed it themselves and should also be reasonably able to change it back.</p>
