Also, are you using google chrome? There is a known problem with this... try firefox or IE instead!

Are you talking about the wifidog or authpuppy auth server?

In any case, what is your server OS and database versions?  Do you see anything in you apache log file?  Or postgresql logs?

Dirty dirty trick would be to directly create the user in the database, but that wouldn't help much finding out what the problem is...
