Andrew,

Also, I'm not using openwrt as my Gateway device. I'm using a Ubuntu 9.04 Server Edition server as my gateway.

All:

I'm having a problem where my client computers when they authenticate to Via the GW machine get a WiFiDog Error web page. The error is "Failed to retrieve your MAC address." On the GW machine I also get a "[3][Mon Jul 20 10:16:14 2009][2883](http.c:224) Failed to retrieve MAC address for ip 192.168.102.10" error.

The only thing I can see here is that I don't have

I used the lsmod command to verify that the ipt_mac and ipt_mark modules are loaded. Here is the output of "lsmod | grep ipt:

ipt_REJECT 11136 3
ipt_REDIRECT 9728 1
iptable_nat 13700 1
nf_nat 25876 2 ipt_REDIRECT,iptable_nat
nf_conntrack_ipv4 21388 4 iptable_nat,nf_nat
nf_conntrack 72008 4 xt_state,iptable_nat,nf_nat,nf_conntrack_ipv4
iptable_mangle 10880 1

Here is the output of the modinfo xt_mac:

filename: /lib/modules/2.6.28-11-server/kernel/net/netfilter/xt_mac.ko
alias: ip6t_mac

Here is the output of the modinfo xt_mark

What's the output of:

cat /proc/net/arp

I've had troubles before and had to change the wifidog src to accept
mac addresses which are not in all CAPS, or maybe it's the other way
around. Either way it was a problem with openwrt.

Andrew Hodel
