Dirk-Willem van Gulik talked to me about this back at OSGeo in the
summer. Someone at WirelessLeiden was working on a prototype C
implementation of an algorithm for channel "autosuggestion" for
very dense networks ( a problem they were just starting to face there ). 
I don't know how this might map to OLSR.
